SAN DIEGO — A woman was rescued from underneath a large tree in Mission Bay after it fell on her Sunday evening.
The 35-foot tall tree fell on the woman walking with her husband along the East Mission Bay Drive boardwalk around 7 p.m., a witness told Fox5.
The witness said the man tumbled out of the way of the falling tree, but his wife was unable to escape.
San Diego Fire-Rescue crews transferred her to UC Medical Center where she was treated for a broken leg and other unknown injuries.
A portion of the boardwalk was closed during the rescue and for crews to clean up the tree.
