Veterans-VillageSAN DIEGO — Veterans Village of San Diego will hold a daylong clothing drive beginning at 6 a.m. today, ahead of next month’s annual Stand Down event, which connects homeless veterans with services.

Organizers of the drive will accept donations of new or gently used clothing through 3 p.m. at the veterans shelter at 4141 Pacific Highway.

They also said they need washcloths, new men’s and women’s underwear, toiletries — including hand sanitizer — shoes and socks.

The VVSD says it expects to serve around 1,000 homeless veterans during the three-day Stand Down, which is scheduled for July 12-14 at San Diego High School.

Monetary donations can be made online at vvsd.net.
