ESCONDIDO, Calif. — A man in his 30s was shot and killed during a fight Wednesday night at a home in Escondido.

Escondido Homicide InvestigationOfficers were dispatched around 8:30 p.m. to 655 McDonald Lane after receiving calls about a fight and gunfire, said Lt. Neal Griffin of the Escondido Police Department.

When officer arrived, a man led them to a rear yard, where the victim, 35-year-old Brian Sanchez, was found with a single gunshot wound to the chest, investigators said. Efforts by officers and paramedics to revive him were unsuccessful and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
