Man stabbed outside recreation center

SAN DIEGO — A man was stabbed near Linda Vista Recreation Center Thursday afternoon and was expected to recover, police said.

Linda Vista Recreation Center stabbing investigationHomicide detectives investigated the stabbing incident that started with a fight in the 7000 block of Levant Street around 4 p.m.

The victim was transported to Sharp Memorial Hospital and treated for stabbing wounds, San Diego Fire-Rescue Department dispatcher said.

Police said they did not have anyone in custody and a weapon was not found at the park.

Gang detectives will conduct the investigation, San Diego police Officer David Stafford said.

    I go to this park every tue, and thrus, and sat. All I can this past tue the police was around a lot. They would drive thru the park. I think that they knew something was about to go down. It still going to the park it will not stop me from going

    All I have to say is that I know the person that was stabbed and what a shame. The boys are rooting for you man and we are praying that you heal and get back out there quick! Only bad thing about this is that violence is getting out of hand and now the boys can't go play ball.
