Kearny Mesa CrashSAN DIEGO — A two-vehicle collision in Kearny Mesa left two people injured Thursday and shut down a stretch of roadway for several hours.

The accident occurred about 12:30 p.m. on Ruffner Street, near Engineer Road, according to San Diego police. Medics took two people involved in the crash to Sharp Memorial Hospital.

The victims’ injuries initially were considered potentially serious but later were downgraded to minor, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.

A stretch of the street was blocked off to allow for investigations and cleanup.
