Teen wounded in Escondido shooting

ESCONDIDO, Calif. — A teenager was recuperating in a hospital from serious gunshot wounds, and Escondido police are searching for his assailants.

Escondido shooting investigationDetective John Hurley said Escondido Police responded to call of a shooting about 9 p.m. Saturday in the area of Gamble Street and Lincoln Avenue.

“Officers arrived to find a 17-year-old male with gunshot wounds to his torso,” Hurley said. The victim was taken to a local hospital for treatment. Hurley said his condition was listed as serious and stabilizing.

The motive for the shooting was unclear.
