SAN DIEGO — Rescuers used a helicopter to lift an injured man from a rock ledge after he fell at Sunset Cliffs Tuesday afternoon.
When lifeguards and firefighters arrived at Sunset Cliffs Park near Sunset Cliff Boulevard and Adair Street, they found the injured man on the rocks below. It was not clear how the man fell.
Because of the nature of his injuries, they decided to bring in a San Diego Fire-Rescue helicopter rather than try to hoist him up the cliffs. Paramedics secured the man to a stretcher. The helicopter hoisted the victim and flew him to Scripps La Jolla Hospital for treatment.
The man’s condition was not known.
