SAN DIEGO – A pursuit involving San Diego police ended after the driver of a BMW crashed into parked vehicles in Linda Vista Tuesday night.

Streets around the 2300 block of Comstock Street were closed around 8:45 p.m. Tuesday after the driver ran away from the crash scene.

The pursuit began in Linda Vista after officers attempted to pull over a man on probation.  He sped away from the patrol car, an officer said.

Police initially thought they found a possible explosive device inside the BMW, then followed up and said it was not dangerous.

It was unknown if anyone was injured in the crash.

The suspect was not in custody as of 10 p.m. and police did not release any details about him.
