SAN DIEGO — Investigators were looking for the driver of a pickup that caught fire and burned on a San Diego freeway early Tuesday.

The truck was engulfed in flames when firefighters found it at about 1 a.m. on the side of Interstate 15 near the University Avenue off-ramp.

Crews knocked down the fire in minutes, but the vehicle was totaled.

Police could not find the driver.
