Woman sexually assaulted in Oceanside home

Screen Shot 2012-11-20 at 9.31.21 PMOCEANSIDE, Calif. — A man broke into a woman’s unlocked home in Oceanside and sexually assaulted her, police said.

The suspect broke into a home on the 1000 block of Alberta Avenue at 4:45 a.m. Saturday, Oceanside Police Sgt. Ignacio Lopez said.

“The suspect broke into the home through an unlocked front door,” Lopez said. “Investigators said the man fled the home and was last seen walking westbound on Alberta Avenue.”

The man was described as a white man with a pale complexion and short brown hair, 5-feet, 7-inches tall and 160 pounds, Lopez said. The man was wearing a black shirt and khaki pants.

The extent of the woman’s injuries were unknown.

    People, "Lock your doors"! Too bad the victim was unarmed. I believe the outcome would have been different if this woman had had a gun handy and was trained to use it. If the police and justice system are unable to control the criminals, the responsibility falls upon the average citizenry. Remember, you alone are responsible for your personal safety and the protection of your family and loved ones.
