Ned Carter Walker plead not guilty to two felony charges after he allegedly brought a .380-caliber pistol and knife with a 2 ½ blade to school.
The 7th and 8th grade English teacher was arrested in the school’s parking lot Monday, February 11.
Walker’s attorney Gerrissa Santos said he is devastated.
“He loves teaching, he has a background in teaching, his wife’s a teacher and he has kids. He misses his job. He misses his students,” said Santos. “There are two sides to every story.”
Santos said in light of recent school shootings, Walker’s actions were only in the best interest of his students.
“His safety as well as his student’s safety is obviously a concern for everybody,” said Santos. “Particularly teachers rightfully so with everything that’s been going on.”
Walker has since been placed on administrative leave. He was booked into county jail then released on a $50,000 bond.
“You are ordered to stay away from Farb Middle School,” said Judge Peter Deddeh.
If convicted, he could face up to nearly five years and eight months in prison and San Diego Unified School District said that is grounds for automatic dismissal.

Was he going to shoot the students with the gun??? Bec IF a crazy gunman started shooting at your children (in school), and this teacher was the ONLY one with a gun to stop the gunman, you'd thank him for being a f***** HERO!

First, how did the police figure out he had a gun? Second, was he trained to use the gun?
His attorney loves peace: https://twimg0-a.akamaihd.net/profile_images/1093…

Yeah San Diego Police Department is a big joke. I was working in Security and called the police on a suspicious man walking through people’s backyards and trying to open car doors, they came 2 hours later. An old man in that same neighborhood was lost, I think he had dementia, he called the police and they show up not even 10 minutes later. Like I said, A BIG JOKE!!
Thank you Mr. Walker, you are a hero!
