SAN DIEGO – Four women were injured Friday in a collision at a Lake Murray-area intersection, San Diego police reported.
The crash happened shortly before 12:30 p.m. The driver of the Honda was heading westbound when it pulled away from a stop sign, into the path of the Chevrolet going north at Boulder Lake Drive and Cowles Mountain Boulevard.
The Chevrolet struck the Honda broadside, seriously injuring the occupants of the latter vehicle and leaving the driver trapped inside. Firefighters had to cut the roof of the Honda off, to get the driver out of the crumpled sedan.
Medics took those three women, all believed to be in their early 20s, to a trauma center, SDPD Officer Frank Cali said.
The driver of the Sonic, a woman in her 40s, also was transported to a hospital for treatment of apparently minor injuries.
