Gunman robs North County jewelry store

CARLSBAD, Calif. — Police Wednesday asked the public to help identify a gunman who robbed a Carlsbad jewelry store.

The man robbed Ultra Diamonds at 5699 Paseo Del Norte on Jan. 27, according to police, who released a suspect sketch depicting a prescription eyeglass-wearing black man in his 40s, about 6 feet and 200 pounds, with a mustache.

He got away with an undisclosed amount of jewelry, police said.

Anyone with more information about the case was asked to call Carlsbad police Det. Jeffrey Smith at 760-931-2146.
