Plane headed for San Diego diverted to Denver

SAN DIEGO – A Jet Blue flight from New York to San Diego had to be diverted to Denver, Colorado Thursday due to an unruly passenger.

flight 185Flight 185 leaving from the John F. Kennedy Airport was suppose to land at Lindbergh Field at 8:10 p.m. but instead was diverted to Denver shortly after 7:15 p.m..

Passengers aboard flight 185 say a woman who was sitting towards the front of the plane became unruly when a man was moved to a middle seat that was next to her aisle seat.  They say she got upset because she paid $65 extra for the seat to get more room, and the man did not have to pay.

Witnesses say the irate woman  began to yell at the male passenger and became out of control.  They say flight attendants were unable to calm her down.

Passengers applauded when authorities escorted the woman off the plane in Denver.

Fight 185 left Denver, without the unruly woman, and landed in San Diego shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Jet Blue says it is a customer service issue so it will not press charges against the woman.
