CHULA VISTA, Calif. – An investigation was continuing Monday into the death of a woman who was struck by a pickup driven by her husband that she had apparently just gotten out of in Chula Vista, police said.
The investigation was in its early stages, but the crash appeared to have been accidental, Chula Vista Police Department Lt. Scott Arsenault said.
Investigators are trying to determine how the victim exited the vehicle and was struck by it, according to police.
The woman was struck shortly before 8 p.m. Sunday near Bay Boulevard and H Street, police said.
Officers at the scene performed CPR on the woman until paramedics arrived and took her to UC San Diego Medical Center, where she died.
Her name was not immediately released.
