Man runs over wife, killing her

Man Runs Over WifeCHULA VISTA — Police are trying to determine the circumstances surrounding the death of a woman who was run over by her husband Sunday night.

The woman was hit by her husband’s car in the intersection of Bay Boulevard and H Street in Chula Vista just after 8 p.m. Rescuers performed CPR on the woman before taking her to UCSD Medical Center, where she died.

Police said the victim, who was in her 30s, either jumped out of the car on her own or was shoved out.

“The investigation right now is still ongoing trying to determine all the situation — if she was a passenger in the car or if she was outside the car,” a spokesman for the Chula Vista Police Department said.  “We’re not sure if she jumped out herself or if she was outside the car. We’re trying to determine if there was an argument or what was going on.”

Investigators shut down both streets during the investigation.

They said that alcohol did not appear to be a factor in the death.

I think its hard to determine that either his husband killed her wife or not because as you mention in post police still can't find any proof about killing.

I find it to be very odd that you accidentally run someone over on an open street. Its not like she was behind the truck where he couldn't see her or something of that matter. From my understanding, they were having marital problems and that doesn't help the husband's case.

Prayers go out to the husband and family. This is such a horrible tragedy. Only God knows why this has happened, we shouldn't comment or speculate on what we don't know. No need for that during such a difficult time like this!

You shouldn't speculate that is was an accident either as much as someone shouldn't speculate it was done on purpose.

She may be in a better place, but she should be here with her son, her family, and her special needs students. Her life was taken by someone driving a truck, and since that someone was her husband, apparently nothing is being done.
