SAN MARCOS – A woman inside a San Marcos movie theater suffered an arm wound Friday after someone fired a shot from across the street, a sheriff’s lieutenant said.
Deputies were sent just before 9:10 p.m. to the 1100 block of West San Marcos Boulevard near the Edwards San Marcos Cinema on a call of a possible shooting, said San Diego sheriff’s Lt. Scott Amos.
A woman inside the theater was found with an arm wound, but it was unclear if she was struck by a bullet or something else, Amos said.
A single gunshot was fired from across the street from the theater, but it did not appear the victim or the theater were targeted, Amos said.
The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment. Her condition was not immediately available, Amos said.
Deputies surrounded the area but broke down their perimeter an hour after the shooting, Amos said.
No suspect description was available, Amos said.
