SAN DIEGO — A vehicle hit and killed a bicyclist on a Kearny Mesa freeway on-ramp Thursday.
The fatal accident on the on-ramp from eastbound Clairemont Mesa Boulevard to Interstate 805 was reported shortly before 6 p.m., according to San Diego police.
The bicyclist died at the scene. There was no immediate evidence that intoxication played a role in the collision, San Diego Police Department Officer Dino Delimitros said.

When cars and bicycle collide, the bicycle always loses. Regretably, but laws of phsics rule.

This wreck was a failure of infrastructure designed to move motor vehicles as quickly as possible at the cost of any other modes. It's not even safe to catch a bus.

That is just sad. My prayers for there family. This is why even in a nice neighborhood I won't ride by bike with the kids here. I save it for the park.
