Man attacked by 5 men at SDSU

SAN DIEGO — Five men attacked and robbed a man of his iPhone on the San Diego State University campus fewer than three hours into the new year, university police said.

sdsu crimeThe victim, who was not a SDSU student, was approached by the group about 2:40 a.m. in the 5700 block of Hardy Avenue, near the Calpulli Center. They allegedly punched and kicked the victim without provocation, then stole his white iPhone, police said.

The suspects then drove east from the scene in a silver four-door BMW sedan, police said. License plate information was not available.

Police described all five suspects as black, about 6 feet tall and wearing blue jeans. One had on a white T-shirt with orange sleeves.
