1st grade teacher denies molestation, child porn charges

CHULA VISTA, Calif. – A South Bay elementary school teacher accused of molesting a child and possession of child porn faced a judge Friday.

John Kinloch, 41, a first grade teacher at Wolf Canyon Elementary School plead not guilty Friday to the 20 counts charged against him during his arraignment with Judge Katharine Bacal Friday.

Kinloch was charged with 18 counts of child molestation, one count of attempted molestation and one count of child pornography, said Deputy District Attorney Enrique Camarena.

Prosecutors said a young student came forward and accused Kinloch of making sexual contact with the victim between 2004 and 2005 when he was teaching at Feaster Charter School in Chula Vista.

Teacher“He is a former student of Mr. Kinloch’s who had a close relationship with him inside and outside of the school,” said Camarena. “[The victim] came forward and we have these other charges, which are more serious in the eyes of the law.”

Kinloch was initially arrested November 30 after agents with an internet crimes task force received a tip.  The investigation showed Kinloch posing as a 13-year-old girl on a website called “Meet me”.  Detectives said he was persuading boys to pose nude during live one-on-one webcam sessions.

Kinloch posted bail and released later that evening.

“He’s a little bit shell shocked you might say,” said Kinloch’s attorney Dan Greene.

Greene said his client is overwhelmed by the allegations and denies all charges against him and encourages the public to focus on his reputation as a teacher.

I’ve heard of wonderful experiences from parents in the community and they’ve talked about what a great person he is and what a great educator he’s been,” said Greene.  “They have to be proven by the facts and if those facts aren’t there then they’re not there.”

Kinloch is being held on a $1.9 million bail.  If convicted, he could face up to 43 years in prison.

Aside from what has been said about Kinloch, he's kind and was such a great educator. I'm still in shock knowing that he has done something as absurd as this.
But to anyone that thinks, "Wow he doesn't deserve to live." or such things like that, you shouldn't wish for anyone to be dead. That's such an awful thing to say. He has done horrible things and he deserves to be put in jail for quite a while, but not die.

F-That! Child-molesters do irrevocable damage to their victims and can never be cured. The only real cure is to put a billet between their eyes. I will gladly volunteer my services if needed. {The investigation showed Kinloch posing as a 13-year-old girl on a website called “Meet me”.
