CHULA VISTA, Calif. – Three people were beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed during a fight near a Chula Vista convenience store, which left two brothers jailed on suspicion of attempted murder and a woman hospitalized and awaiting charges, police said Saturday.

The groups of suspects and victims began fighting about 7:30 p.m. Friday outside the 7-Eleven store at Broadway and F Street, and the altercation spilled into the 200 block of Ash Ave, according to Chula Vista police Lt. Eric Thunberg. Officers arrived to find three people who were beaten with a baseball bat and stabbed during the brawl.

A woman described as a suspect was struck in the head with the bat and another suspect were also at the scene, police said. The other alleged assailant was found at a nearby residence, Thunberg said.

The victims were hospitalized with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, he said.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was taken to a hospital where she was awaiting charges, Thunberg said.

Anthony Bojorquez, 21, and Marcos Bojorquez, 25, were arrested for suspicion of attempted murder, police said.
