IMPERIAL BEACH, Calif. – An Imperial Beach bank branch was robbed by a suspect who left a suspicious device behind, causing the branch to be evacuated, sheriff’s officials said.
The robbery at a Chase Bank at Palm Avenue and 11th Street was reported about 1:15 p.m., sheriff’s Lt. Karen Stubkjaer said.
No injuries were reported, but the bank was evacuated and sheriff’s explosives experts were called to investigate a suspicious device that the suspect had left behind, she said.
