Bicyclist hospitalized after losing control in intersection
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – A 24-year-old man sustained serious injuries when he lost control of his bicycle and fell in a San Marcos intersection, a sheriff’s deputy said Saturday.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to Richmar Avenue at Liberty Drive about 7:20 p.m. Friday on an initial report of a collision between the bike and a vehicle, but discovered no car was involved in the crash, according to Deputy Tammy Bennetts.
The cyclist was riding southeast from Richmar Avenue to Liberty Drive and fell from the bike, Bennetts said. He was taken to Palomar Medical Center where he was treated for his injuries, Bennetts said. The cause of the crash remaines under investigation.
