SAN DIEGO- A new business in San Diego is trying to reverse the trend of automated high-water waste car washes.

Cherry.com is a car washing business that has a system where they use less than a gallon of water per car.

Customers go online and place an order for a car wash.  The Cherry car washer gets the message and finds the car wherever it’s parked and then washes the car.

No money is exchanged and the car owner doesn’t even need to see the Cherry washer.

The cost of the service is $29 about $10 cheaper than a normal detail job.

The San Francisco company expanded to San Diego three months ago and has been hiring independent car washers.
